A festive parade usually held on the third Monday in January.

Okefenokee Swamp Run

10K Swamp Run, presented by Okefenokee Track Club at Laura S. Walker State Park. Immediately after 10K run, there is a One Mile Fun Run.

April

April Fool's Rod Run

For over twenty years, the biggest annual event in Waycross, everything from Model T's to foreign sports cars can be seen at this show. Over five-hundred cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles are brought in to be part of this weekend event.

Swamp Fest

This event begins with a parade, concert and street dance in Downtown Waycross and continues with different festivities throughout the weekend. Simmons Bed Race, children's games, a petting zoo, arts & crafts, great southern cooking, live theater, a beauty pageant and more! Activities are held in Historic Downtown.

Shriner's All-Night Gospel Sing

For many years, the Shriners' All-Night Gospel Sing, sponsored by the Waycross Shrine Club, has been held in Waycross, Georgia. Entertainment includes nationally known gospel groups as well as a Talent Search competition. All proceeds benefit the Shriners' Children Hospital.

July

Fourth of July Celebration

Every year, on the fourth of July, the Waycross Jaycee's celebrate with music, food and fireworks at Memorial Stadium, located on U.S. 1/Memorial Drive. People from all over the area come to enjoy live entertainment and activities for the whole family at the stadium. The grand finale of the evening is a fireworks show, usually beginning around 9:00 PM. The fireworks display can be seen from almost anywhere in town, if you happen to be passing through.

Twin Oaks Bluegrass Convention

Twice a year, the Flat Top Travelers host Bluegrass Convention at Twin Oaks Park. This convention lasts for three days, packed full of Gospel and Bluegrass music. Camping is available too. Twin Oaks Parks has over 875 RV hook-ups onsite.

Fall Festival

Held at Laura S. Walker State Park, this event is chocked full of activities for the entire family - games, hay rides, refreshments, a campfilre, a scary story and much more!

Oak Street Festival

An annual fall festival that celebrates the Oak Street area of Waycross. Festivities include concert, basketball tournament, food and craft vendors.A day of fun for the entire family.

Okefenokee Agricultural Fair

Hosted by the Waycross Exchange Club and held annually. Midway rides, local entertainment, concessions, games, livestock shows, petting zoo and many more exciting events. Admission fee daily, rides rates vary.

Waycross Main Street Christmas Parade

The annual Christmas parade is held in Historic Downtown Waycross the first Thrusday of December. The parade includes the familiar faces of the Pogo Possum, Shoney Bear and, of course, the sounds of the Ware County High School Golden Gator Marching Band. Bring your jackets and enjoy watching the beautifully decorated floats made by our local businesses and churches, leading up to the children's favorite - Santa on the big red fire truck!
